Foot & Ankle


Many causes of foot pain including:

  • Degenerative disease such as osteoarthritis
  • Fracture or ligament injury
  • Deformities such as bunion
  • Stress fractures and overuse injuries such as plantar fasciitis

Symptoms may include:

  • Numbness in the foot
  • Pain in the heel, ball or arch of foot
  • Change in sensation or color of skin
  • Swelling or tenderness
  • Deformity or loss of function

Treatment Options

  • Bracing
  • Physical Therapy
  • Surgical intervention


Because of constant stress and frequency of use, ankle pain generally does not subside without treatment.

Ankle pain is most commonly associated with

  • traumatic injury, such as fracture or injury to the ligament such as a sprain
  • overuse injury such as tendinitis of the Achilles or other tendon or stress fracture
  • degenerative conditions such as arthritis

Treatment options may include:

  • Bracing or orthotics
  • Anti-inflamatory drugs
  • Physical therapy
  • Ankle surgery to treat soft tissue injury or fracture
